Hearing Support for Veterans

Respecting Your Service — Supporting Your Hearing

At Lockyer Hearing, we proudly support our Australian veterans by offering comprehensive hearing services through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and the Hearing Services Program (HSP).

Whether you hold a Gold Card or a White Card (hearing loss-specific), we’re here to guide you, advocate for you, and deliver the hearing care you deserve.

What You’re Entitled To

If you’re eligible through the DVA, you can access:

  • Full hearing assessments

  • Fitting and supply of fully subsidised hearing aids

  • Ongoing hearing aid maintenance and support

  • Batteries, consumables, and device repairs

But at Lockyer Hearing, our care doesn’t stop there.

Going Further for Our Veterans

Assistive Devices Beyond Hearing Aids

We work closely with the DVA to help veterans access additional equipment that enhances everyday hearing — especially when traditional hearing aids alone aren't enough.

This includes:

  • Wireless TV listening systems (including Bluetooth and noise-cancelling headphone options)

  • Amplified or visual alert doorbells

  • Streaming and other assistive listening devices

These devices can make a huge difference at home, in social settings, or while relaxing — and we’ll help you explore and apply for what best suits your needs.

Advocates for Your Hearing and Your Life

We understand that hearing loss doesn’t exist in isolation — it can affect how you connect with your family, your community, and your daily activities. That’s why we take a broader view.

We regularly advocate for additional funding and support for veterans with hearing loss who experience:

  • Tinnitus

  • Mental health conditions that affect or are affected by hearing

  • Impaired dexterity (e.g., arthritis, tremors, nerve damage)

  • Visual impairments that complicate hearing aid use

  • Occupational, vocational, or recreational challenges caused by hearing difficulties

When standard-issue devices aren’t enough, we’ll work on your behalf to request funding for more advanced technology that better meets your needs — even if it means doing more than the big clinics would.

Our Personal Commitment to Veterans

There may be times when DVA funding does not cover the advanced features you genuinely need — even if you hold a Gold or White (hearing-specific) card.

When that happens, we’ll upgrade your hearing aid technology above the fully subsidised standard devices at no extra cost*, as our way of saying thank you for your service.

Because you deserve more than the bare minimum.

Ready to Take the Next Step?
